#Have a light supper and then cookies with cocoa!
#Bring a found "while elephant" object for exchange complete with a bit of fun!
#Enjoy some fun games!
 
                    ##Rides will be from Sandy Creek at 6:45pm
(St. Peter is on 123 by Burke Center Parkway and St. George is on 123 at Braddock Rd.

Advent-Our Church's New Year

Advent--the season of preparation, of waiting and watching, of being awake-
 
Today is the first Sunday of Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas, the birth of our Lord. 
It is so much more than counting the days until Christmas. 
It is Christ with us and it is Christ coming again in glory to make us his own forever.
 
This week-
Worship with us on Wednesday--"In Community at 7:47"  Johnson room D 7:45-9pm
 
Also
Monday 8pm--"O God, O God, O God" Discussion on Sex-SUB 2vip2
Thursday "Table Talk" at St. George Methodist  6:30pm

The ELCA Church Council met this past weekend and received the attached summary of the annual reports submitted by eligible campus ministry agencies.  Thanks to all of you for your careful preparation of those reports.  Thanks to Erin Daubert for reading each and every one of those reports and for synthesizing that information according to the format created by Bill King. 
 
In this time of thanks-giving, know how grateful I am for your ministry to and with young adults on campuses throughout this country and for the partnership that we share in this ministry.

Freeborn Lehman's Last Day on Earth

Alpha Psi Omega, the theatre honors fraternity, is hosting a staged reading of GMU Professor Lisa Nanni-Messegee's "Freeborn Lehman's Last Day On Earth," a new play which discusses the challenges of a group of homeless teens in Los Angeles. All proceeds will be donated to Our Daily Bread, a local charity.

Date: November 15th, 2011  

Time:        8:00 pm 

Location: FAB 200

Admission:$5.00 or Two Cans of Food

Please keep in mind Tuesday evening, 7pm, for "Nowhere to Lay His Head" in Dewberry Hall. 
 
LCM is on duty Wednesday 12:30-2:30pm in the north plaza to hand out fliers and collect domations.  We need about four people to close up at 2:30.
Please come by and help.  (Kiosk A in case of rain!)
And donate non-persihable food for ACTS of Eastern Prince William County.  Let's see how much we can collect to help the hungry!!

LCM during Hunger and Homeless Action Week

                                 ++++Hunger and Homeless Action Week++++
 
All week we are collecting non-perishable food items for ACTS of Eastern Prince William County (bring to our kiosks or Johnson 239)
   The need has been so great that in October ACTS had to close its doors for several days because of a lack of food.
 
Tuesday-7pm in Dewberry Hall--"Nowhere to Lay His Head"  presentation and art display by Matthew Works,
                               a man who experienced homelessness for ten years.
