HARVEST OF HOPE ALTERNATIVE SPRING BREAK TRIP DETAILS

Saturday 3/7/2009 at 2pm -- Sunday 3/15/2009 at 2pm

Spend spring break with us in sunny Jacksonville, Florida!
Space is limited, so apply soon if you are interested.

Once there, we'll work alongside college students from across the country in a grassroots hunger relief ministry that relies on volunteers to glean nutritious produce from farmers' fields and orchards after harvest and deliver it to people in need across the United States.

No experience necessary, as we will learn how to do whatever is needed once there.

In addition to gleaning, we'll be learning about hunger in the USA and the world, and about what one person (such as you or me) can do to make a difference, responding to the call of the Gospel to feed the poor in your lifestyle. We'll grow spiritually as we spend time in worship and look at the spiritual aspects of hunger.

Come prepared to work, but this is your spring break, so also expect to have some fun! We'll also have some downtime to spend hanging out on the beach!

United College Ministries and Lutheran Campus Ministry will be taking students from George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College -- and space is limited, so RSVP today!

We've been able to get the cost for for students down to $100.
Scholarships are available if money is a hindrance -- contact dmay@gmu.edu for details.

I'll send out our regular weekly email tomorrow -- but I wanted to make sure you got this as soon as possible.

Grace and peace,
Ben
