Where do we find God?  That is the question we'll tackle tonight at worship.  Do you have an answer?  Bring it!  We'd love to hear it.  Hopefully, we can help show each other the many places that God is revealed in our own lives.

FALL RETREAT:  We know that it's hard to take a weekend away, but we think you'll be glad you did. It will be a time to gather our community, getting to know one another, integrating new friends, celebrating the goodness of God, relaxing, a campfire with s'mores, and having fun!  The retreat is Oct 2 at 6pm - Oct 4 at 1pm, at the beautiful Meadowkirk Retreat Center.  Cost is $20/student including everything (meals, lodging, etc.), but we can help if money is an issue.  

     There will be free time to chill, read, walk the meadows, woods, or labyrinth, or take a nap. You can even do some school work (if you want/need that).  Join us for rest, for real community and for spiritual renewal. U2 Raffle Information: My wife Kriss and I have a couple extra tickets for the U2 concert on Tues. 9/29/2009 at 7pm at FedEx Field.  We've decided to raffle them off for FREE to students who come to LCM events, so you can submit your name (and contact info if I don't already have it) at once per each of our event (see above) through Wed 9/23/2009.  (BONUS: Talk to me if you are planning on going to the FALL RETREAT and would like that to count too...)

NOTES:
1. To enter your name, you have to stick around a while and participate in the event.

2. Winners of each ticket will be drawn separately.  
3. If your name is drawn and you can't go, then we'll draw another name.  (You can't sell the tickets.)

There is something special about gathering together: Jesus said he is present whenever 2 or 3 gather in his name.  We keep that community focus in mind, and there are several chances for getting to know our community better in the coming week: movies, mini-golf, kiosks, worship, service, & more!  Also, remember you can win a ticket and ride to the upcoming U2 concert by participating in our events (drawing to take place on Wed 9/23/09).  See below for details.

I can't hype the upcoming retreat enough.  This will be a time for us to detox from the craziness of daily life, slowing down a bit and living in community, getting to know each other a bit better and digging into our Bibles, too!

    Before that, we have a THEOLOGY PUB, where we'll wrestle with our questions together, WORSHIP each week, a MOVIE NIGHT (with MARIOKART too!), MINI-GOLF, a mixer with other young adults in the region, a U2 TICKET RAFFLE, and MORE!  See below for details.

I hope your first week of classes was great!  We had a great time getting to know each other, drumming on the Quad, meeting new people, worshiping and talking about who are are as loved children of God who find our worth in Jesus Christ.  God loves you because that's who God is!

PLANNING MEETING: YOU are invited to meet with us on Sunday 9/7 at 4pm in SUB I Patriot's Lounge (on the blue couches by the Info Desk) to talk about what we would like to do together this semester.  Have ideas about service events?  Want to help plan a game night or bike ride?  I'll provide the pizza and we'll put our hearts and minds together on this.  Ideas and leadership from Freshmen and Sophomores are encouraged!  ALL are welcome!

DRUM CIRCLE: No experience necessary – we'll provide a bunch of hand drums and shakers and make music together.  ALL are welcome!  Monday 9/7 in President's Park 3pm-4pm. Come and go as you please, so feel free to stop by even if you only have a few minutes.  We'll be in some place shady relatively near Eisenhower.

THEOLOGY PUB:  We'll gather at Brion's Grille to eat, drink, and talk about God, faith, religion, and how they intersect life in our world.  This is a safe, open conversation.  ALL are welcome, so bring a friend, order yourself dinner, and join in the conversation!  5:15pm on these Tuesdays: 9/15/2009, 10/13, 11/10, and 12/1.  Let us know if you want a ride from campus.  Details HERE.

FALL RETREAT: You can register online HERE -- the retreat will be October 2-4, at the beautiful Meadowkirk Retreat Center.  Cost is $20/student including everything (meals, lodging, etc.), but we can help if money is an issue.  Space is limited, so consider registering soon!

HELP OUT: It would be awesome if some of you would help out with KIOSKS (Wed 9/9, 2-6pm and Tues 9/15, 11am-3pm) in the JC.  Feel free to put together a group to PAINT A CUBE by Southside, CHALK campus, etc.
